Summer Update 2026: What's New in Psynex

Everything new in Psynex from summer 2026: chat with the full patient file, images and PDFs in the input field, scientific sources, export with references, templates from the session, auto-deletion, DPA download and usage in percent.

Psynex Team

It has been a quiet summer on the outside and a busy one on the inside. Since June, a lot has been added to Psynex, most of it based on conversations with you. Here is the summary, sorted by what will make the biggest difference in your day-to-day work.

The chat now understands the whole patient file

Until now, you could load individual sessions into the chat as context. Now you can load everything that belongs to a patient: sessions, AI documents, applications, assessments and uploaded files. You pick what the chat should see in the context dialog, and before every question you see how much of your monthly allowance it will use. Whatever you select is never truncated.

Images and PDFs go straight into the input field, by drag and drop or from the clipboard. A photo of a handwritten questionnaire, a screenshot of a report, a referral letter as a PDF: paste, ask, done. Follow-up questions about the same image work as well. PDFs are added to your library automatically and stay available for later questions. The PDF needs a text layer. For a plain scan, upload it as an image instead and the AI will read it directly.

Better sources, less noise

Web search in the evidence chat has learned a few things. It now only runs when a question actually needs outside knowledge, and no longer for "Summarise the last three sessions". When it does search, it draws on scientific sources such as PubMed, Semantic Scholar and OpenAlex and ranks results by relevance before they make it into the answer.

A small chip next to the input field puts you in control: Auto, Always or Off. Your library selection is now remembered per account rather than per chat.

Export with or without references

When exporting to Word or PDF, you decide whether the sources appear as a numbered reference list at the end of the document, as in a journal article, or whether all citations are removed. Useful when one text goes to an assessor and another only into your own records.

Your own templates, straight from the session

If you regularly produce the same kind of documentation, you can now create a template inside the session or save an edited prompt as a template without leaving the session. The entry "Create new prompt" sits directly in the dropdown under "My templates". Available from the Basic plan.

Full-text search across everything

Search in the sidebar now finds not just titles and names but content too: in sessions, chats, applications and AI documents. A half sentence you wrote in a note three weeks ago is findable again.

You decide how long data stays

Under Settings > Data management you define whether and after what period Psynex deletes content automatically, from one hour to 30 days, separately for session content, chats, AI documents, assessments, applications and files. Patient master data, calendar and settings are not affected.

On top of that there is an instant delete, a complete export of all your data as a ZIP, and an account deletion that takes effect immediately with no waiting period.

Also new is the DPA download: in Data management you can download the data processing agreement as a PDF with your name, practice address and the date of your consent. Every data protection officer asks for it sooner or later.

Usage at a glance

Instead of abstract token counts, your account now shows AI usage as a percentage of your monthly allowance, with a ring in the sidebar that only appears once it becomes relevant. Documentation is never blocked, no matter how full the bar is.

Annual billing and referral programme

If you pay for Psynex annually, you get one month free. And if you recommend Psynex, the referral programme rewards you for every new user who starts through your link. You will find both in your account.

Under the hood

Most of the summer went into things you will hopefully never notice: a comprehensive security review of the entire application, encryption extended to further areas (library, chat images and more), encrypted backups with a copy at a second location, an automatic logout after 30 minutes of inactivity with a warning beforehand, and a long list of small fixes you reported to us. Thank you for that.

What is coming next

In progress are a general chat mode without a patient link, text recognition for scanned PDFs without a text layer, and buying additional minutes directly in your account. The chat is also getting its own tools: it should be able to create a Word or PDF document straight from an answer, without copying and pasting. And it is moving into the session itself: once you have recorded a long transcript, you should be able to ask questions about it right there, without first creating a chat and loading the context.

If something is missing or does not work the way you expect: simply reply to one of our emails or write to info@psynex.io. Most of the features on this list started exactly that way.
